Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
